The SeatPack Story

We locally make and distribute critical learning support tools for children in low-income schools across Sub-Saharan Africa to increase their access to great future opportunities

We do this by:

• Providing missing classroom furniture to children in low-income schools: Distributing SeatPacks to children at scale.

• Providing mobile electricity access to children in low-income communities: Distributing Solar SeatPacks to children at scale.

• Providing daily school attendance data for children in low income schools: (Currently In pilot phase)  Tap & Learn wearable data system.

• Providing support resources for Teaching at the Right Level

  (Currently In pre-pilot phase): Distributing resources for measured improvement in reading and mathematics.

SeatPacks are $20 handmade school bags that become bamboo chairs with writing surfaces for sitting and writing in day-time classrooms (indoor or outdoor) and provide solar lighting for night-time study at home.

Every SeatPack ensures school attendance for 5 years per child, with bamboo as a sustainable alternative to wooden classroom furniture.

• 1 in every 4 school children across Sub-Saharan Africa do not get a place to sit or write during classes, turning their school attendance into a terrible experience. 

• 2 in every 5 school children across Sub-Saharan Africa have no electricity at home, making it difficult to study after dark. 

Gifting a SeatPack ensures each child 5 years with a place to sit, write during class at school, and portable solar lighting to study at home after dark. Creating a better chance at achieving their future dreams through a daily education.
